Trussardi AW11

What's not to love? Oversized gloves and hats, fur abound, striking use of color, and a 60s/70s feel is overwhelmingly awesome. Trussardi does color blocking in a subtle way, the brightest color being red. Glamour is the operative word here. And did you see those fur boots/ heels/wtf? They're like sexier snowshoes. Hot damn (well, just damn, we are talking about snowshoes)!
You know this color scheme and styling reminds me of something...

Of course! I mean, look at this.

Trussardi Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear

It's like all the White Stripes albums rolled into one. And I'm actually tempted to bleach some black pants like that...
I'm sick out of my mind, hope everyone else's week doesn't suck.

Vena Cava Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear

This is the final look from Vena Cava AW11. I see a lot of DIY potential, don't you? Just sew a skirt onto a body suit and cut out the stomach (artfully). It's so 90s, I die. Sort of like this 90 degree weather we're having. Ah yes! Clever relation!

My people

Sasha Pivovarova for Vogue Korea April 2011. Why do I always gravitate towards short hair? It's a real bias, I have to stop it. All that aside, I'm dying for the sunglasses. Truly.
Also, does anyone have an interest in designing my new blog header? I'm a wee bit bored with the one I have, and I think it's time for a change.

Dirty Harry

How odd that I should buy orange pants the day I finally see this campaign! And those collar tips... expect some photos after they're DIYed by me.
If you're on spring break, I hope you had a marvelous one!

Album of the Month: April 2011

Thekills

The Kills
Blood Pressures
★★★★

Apparently, they're now "refined like pharmaceutical cocaine." And you know what? I agree. This album still has the lo-fi quality to it, but instead of bing wild and feral like it used to be, the music is more polished and, dare I say it, poppier. They've definitely moved on from Midnight Boom. The drum machines aren't as pronounced, and the guitar is more layered, sort of like what we heard with U.R.A Fever. I am super psyched that Jamie (aka Hotel) gets more of a presence on this one. I mean I could rave on and on about Alison, but this is a duo; you kind of want a spotlight on both. Overall this record is less cocaine-in-your-apartment and more midnight-show-followed-by-a-road-trip. You know what I'm getting at?
